Built in Augusta

“Built in Augusta” is an exhibition of local artists works at the City Gallery that celebrate the structures that shape the City of Augusta and the stories they carry. From historic landmarks and neighborhood homes to storefronts, and overlooked corners, the exhibition displays works of art that explore Augusta’s rich architectural landscape and interior designs as both subject and inspiration. Through a wide range of mediums, participating artists have interpreted not only the physical forms of these spaces, but also the memories, culture, and lived experiences embedded within them; revealing how the places we pass every day help define our shared sense of identity.

On view in the City Gallery of the Augusta-Richmond County Municipal Building from April 23 through July 16, “Built in Augusta” highlights the character, diversity, and evolving spirit of the city through the eyes of its creative community. A public reception will be held on Friday, June 12 from 5:00–7:00 p.m., offering an opportunity to meet the artists and experience the exhibition in a celebratory setting.

Featured artists include PASC, Melanie L. Art, Keith Beckman, A.C. Daniel, Nathan Elliott, Deepti Malik, Carol Cross, Addison Niday, and Gabe Marshall.

The Art of Music – 10 musicians inspiring 10 local artists for one arts showcase

The Greater Augusta Arts Council is proud to present The Art of Music, a dynamic cross-disciplinary exhibition on view at the Augusta & Co. Gallery from March 26 through June 25, 2026. A public reception will be held on Friday, April 3, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Artists of all genres have inspired one another since the beginning of time, and this exhibition builds on that enduring creative exchange. In 2025, the Arts Council launched The Art of Words in the City Gallery, which paired CSRA-based visual artists with local writers who created original works inspired by visual art. This showcase saw the publication of a free-to-the-public book funded by a generous grant through the Porter Fleming Foundation. Now, with The Art of Music, the concept evolves, bringing together the visual and musical arts in an immersive, collaborative experience.

For this exhibition, 10 local musicians have been paired with 10 local visual artists. Over the course of eight weeks, each visual artist created a new piece inspired by an original song. The resulting works are displayed alongside QR codes that link directly to the paired music on Spotify, allowing visitors to experience both art forms simultaneously and gain deeper insight into each artist’s creative process.

Participating musicians include The Beached Whale Project, Sun-Li, AE the Cool, Wimzy, JBlock, Yunie, Nery Kim, Sounds of Brilliance, Chris Hardy World, and Perfect Backseat Driver. Visual artists include Bryson Kelly, ColoredInCanvas, ERICA PASTECKI, PASC, Theron Cartwright, Destinee Love, Amy Jackson, Baruti Tucker, Francie Klopotic, and Deepti Malik.

The Art of Music on view in the Augusta & Co gallery at 1010 Broad Street, Augusta Ga 30901 from March 26 - June 25, 2026. Reception April 3, 2026 from 5-7pm.

Hanging Your Work In Our Galleries

Walker Display French Cleat

Both the City Gallery and Augusta & Co. Gallery use the Walker Display Rod-Rail hanging system (pictured at left). Many local galleries utilize this system, as it has minimal damage to walls and is historic building friendly. For more information on this system, please visit www.walkerdisplay.com . To learn about what methods work best for hanging on this system, check out this site.

We encourage all artists interested in displaying work in our galleries to research this display method, as several types of store-bought frames are not designed to hang from this type of system.

You can also read Gallery Director Heather Dunaway’s Blog, the Word, for tips on how to properly frame, wire and hang your work.
